Constant communication is one way of making long distance relationship a real success.

In fact, communication is the only method for us human beings to connect with our fellow. In long distance relationship, constant communication is a must for it to survive. Long distance relationship is a relationship built on communication. It is the only way to connect with each other and if you fail to maintain it, your relationship is doomed to collapse.

In this age of modern technological advancements, we can practically avail all the benefits and blessings of modern technology. Should one fails, there are always alternative options available.

Calls. This is the most convenient method of communication because you both can exchange ideas in real time and discuss things briefly and yet extensively. The only downside of this is that this can be very expensive if done on a daily basis. Aside from this, you also have to agree regarding the time as you may be separated by different time zones. This can be quite inconvenient if you are separated away by both ends of the world.

E-mails. This is the most convenient method of communication because you only need a computer and internet connection and this is free. In e-mails, you can express yourself without limits. E-mails are best for discussion for issues that are not urgent and yet needs extensive explanation. The only downside of this is that you really need to exert more effort in writing.

Chat. Like e-mails, you also need a computer and reliable internet connection. Chat is recommended with webcam. This is needed because not only that you need to update each other with information about your respective lives, you also need to update each other with your current looks, hairdo and if you gain or lose weight. Chat however can be very minimalist in terms of exchanging ideas and it can consume considerable time. Just like calls, you also have to agree on certain times for chatting and this is very inconvenient if you are separated by distant time zones.

SMS (Texting). This is another convenient method of communication and unlike chatting this is ultra-minimalist as you cannot express yourself entirely through texting. Texting is good in urgent notices. Sending sweet notes are also good in texting. Here you can overcome the worry of inconvenience because you can basically send a text message anytime of the day.

Letter. This is the old-fashioned way of communication. Still this is recommended if you are sending birthday and valentine’s cards and important documents. But if you intend to update each other, letter may not be a good method.
