A Poem

I’ve been wishing

To write a poem—

“A lovely one”

But I’m not inspired at all

To lay down lines.

So here I am

Speechless,

Motionless—

Pondering deeply,

Hopeful to get a handful of inspiration.

I glanced around,

But darkness welcomed me

I shut my eyes,

Hearing no sound

But a clock’s eternal ticking.

A few seconds left me—

With an empty mind,

Leaving me clueless—

About the thoughts

I ought to write.

Dry’s my mind now

So I shall quit—

To capture time, but

When inspired I’ll be back

To lay down lines.
